HOLZ-HANDWERK 2026: Innovation meets tradition – the heart of craftsmanship beats in Nuremberg
From 24 to 27 March 2026, Nuremberg will once again become the central meeting place for European joiners, carpenters and cabinetmakers: HOLZ-HANDWERK is more than just a trade fair – it is a place where innovation and tradition meet, where machines and products can be experienced first-hand, and where personal encounters make all the difference.

This is where craft businesses, manufacturers and suppliers in the field of woodworking and wood processing come together to discover the latest technologies, materials and solutions and to shape the future of the craft together.
‘We are very pleased with the current registration status for HOLZ-HANDWERK. The exhibition will grow in size compared to 2024. This is a clear sign of the strong interest and relevance of the event in the woodworking and wood processing industry,’ emphasises Stefan Dittrich, Exhibition Director at HOLZ-HANDWERK. ‘The trade fair is a place for dialogue, inspiration and networking. Especially in times of change, it is important that we find answers together – and that is exactly what happens here in Nuremberg.’
Dr. Bernhard Dirr, Managing Director of the VDMA Woodworking Machinery Association, emphasises the importance of the trade fair: ‘HOLZ-HANDWERK is an indispensable meeting place for our industry. It shows how modern technologies and intelligent automation can strengthen the woodworking trade. It is particularly important to us to bring solutions to life and promote dialogue between manufacturers and users.’
The supporting programme addresses topics that are important to the industry. In the new HOLZ-HANDWERK Arena, supported by a cooperation with ‘dds – Das Magazin für Möbel und Ausbau’ (dds – The Magazine for Furniture and Fittings), the ‘Meister – Erfahrungsbericht’ (Master Craftsman – Experience Report) discussion panel, among others, invites visitors to engage in an open exchange. Master craftsman schools discuss expectations, experiences and wishes with former and future master craftsmen. The best practice presentations also take a practical approach, with carpenters presenting their success stories and implemented solutions. Visitors interested in the digital future will find answers to questions about digitalisation in the carpentry trade, among other things, with leading software providers presenting their tools and strategies.
At the HOLZ-HANDWERK Campus in Hall 11, technical colleges will once again present their curricula and qualifications in order to attract young talents to their training programmes. There will also be another special exhibition organised by the Bavarian Association of Cabinetmakers (FSH) in cooperation with the VDMA and NürnbergMesse. This year's materials show will provide fresh inspiration for design.
Another special feature of the programme is ‘Focus Interior Doors’, which is being organised in collaboration with FENSTERBAU FRONTALE and the trade journal BM. Here, leading manufacturers and suppliers of modern door solutions will demonstrate how aesthetics, functionality and innovation can be combined. The programme is complemented by the ‘Focus Interior Doors’ guided tour, which takes visitors directly to the relevant exhibitors.
In addition, guided tours conducted by Rosenheim Technical University provide guidance and inspiration on topics such as sustainable energy and extraction technology, efficient machines and tools, innovative materials and fittings technology, value-adding software and optimisation, and high-performance hand tools and aids.
HOLZ-HANDWERK 2026 will take place from 24 to 27 March 2026, starting at 10 a.m. each day, in conjunction with FENSTERBAU FRONTALE in Nuremberg. It is organised by VDMA Woodworking Machinery Association and NürnbergMesse GmbH. The conceptual sponsor is the Bavarian Association of Cabinetmakers (FSH). In 2024, the trade fair duo attracted a total of around 75,000 visitors and 973 exhibitors from the woodworking, window, door and façade construction sectors. Both trade fairs can once again be visited at the same time with a single ticket.
