Now more than ever! In 2022, the 20th edition of HOLZ-HANDWERK will finally take place – many companions and partners have accompanied us for many years and remember the 19 previous events just as fondly as we do. Some of them look back and ahead with us on the occasion of our anniversary. Today J. Schmalz GmbH offer their congratulations.
Which HOLZ-HANDWERK anecdote from the 20 issues do you remember most fondly?
I still remember HOLZ-HANDWERK at the end of the 90s very well. Back then, we presented our clamping systems for CNC machines for the first time and met with enormous interest. Something happened that is rather rare today: We started selling directly at the trade fair – and with great success. The decisive factor was, on the one hand, that the then new vacuum block VCBL-G obviously convinced the carpenters and joiners immediately. On the other hand, we also had an energetic sales team that was able to sell the new product enthusiastically through its committed and competent appearance.
Please complete the following sentence: What we like about HOLZ-HANDWERK is…
... the visitors. We have been to every HOLZ-HANDWERK so far and are thrilled every time how many qualified and sustainable contacts we can make during the four days of the fair. Whether it's the carpenter from the trade or the managing director of a large furniture factory - we have interesting discussions with all of them, take away impulses for new handling or clamping solutions and also conclude a sale.
What do you expect from your participation at HOLZ-HANDWERK 2022?
After the pandemic-related break, we are again looking forward to many personal conversations and the opportunity to present our innovations live and in real life. With our hybrid trade fair, the Schmalz EXPO, we have proven that it is possible to do without. Here we were also able to show and explain complex devices via streaming. Because our goal was and still is to optimise our customers' workflows – whether in terms of ergonomics or competitiveness with the help of digital services and networked systems. Nevertheless, it is nicer to discuss their technical problems on site together with the trade visitors and, in the best case, to find a solution. We are also looking forward to a lively exchange with our business partners from the woodworking and furniture processing machine industry.
