- Easy to operate due to self-explanatory user interface
- Measures distances between 0.05 and 50 meters accurately to the millimeter
- Very robust: dust and splash-protected and shockproof
Professionals who want to check heights and distances in buildings or quickly and precisely measure indoor areas can use the GLM 50 Professional from Bosch in future. This laser rangefinder delivers more exact results than traditional measuring methods. And it does so in an easy way because it measures distances of up to 50 meters with a typical accuracy of ±1.5 millimeters at the push of a button. Moreover, the instrument reliably calculates areas and volumes, therefore making it easier and faster to calculate material and prices. Further advantages are offered by functions such as the continuous measurement and indirect height measurement. Continuous measurement is used to display required distances to building components. In this way, for example, you can position ventilation ducts in a room or install drywalls at a certain distance. The indirect height measurement by means of Pythagoras is used when objects or installations block the measuring path. Therefore, this instrument even delivers reliable results when there is only a limited possibility to measure with a folding rule.
Robust tool with functional features
The GLM 50 Professional laser rangefinder is only 114 x 53 x 31 millimeters in size, weighs 140 grams and can even be carried to the jobsite in jacket or trouser pockets. It is operated using seven clearly arranged buttons that are labeled with symbols. The measuring results and instrument settings ? for example whether measurement is to be performed from the front edge of the instrument, the back edge or from the integrated 1/4" thread ? are easy to read on the large, illuminated display. The lighting switches on automatically: it is activated by an integrated light sensor. The instrument is powered by two 1.5 V LR03 batteries. This enables up to 10,000 individual measurements to be performed. Moreover, this laser rangefinder is very robust: it is dust and splash-protected to IP54, has rubber-coated corners and edges, and it remains fully functional after being dropped from a height of one meter.
The GLM 50 Professional laser rangefinder including a carrying case and batteries will be available at specialist retail outlets from January 2012 onwards at the recommended retail price of 129 euros plus VAT. Laser viewing glasses, an adapter from ¼" camera to 5/8" building tripod thread, and the BS 150 Professional building tripod are available as accessories.
