Possibly the most obvious improvement, among the numerous innovative features, is the new rotor. Apart from the increased number of blades, 28/42 and 54 blades respectively, delivering greater throughput rates, the shaft revolutions have also been significantly increased by more than 100 rpm. There are also the improved rotor shaft journals allowing a more rigid bearing design, facilitating the inclusion of a more powerful gearbox thereby improving the operational and reliability characteristics. Gearboxes installed in WEIMA machines are no longer an OEM part but have been designed, developed and manufactured in WEIMA’s own factories. This new flexibility ensures gearboxes meet the WEIMA highest quality standards for operational reliability.
Other features include; a new extended “Logspacer” hopper increasing optimisation: Thanks to its special shaping, resulting in larger hopper capacity, this free-cutting hopper ensures better handling of larger, longer log pieces and a more diverse range of shaped material.
