The legend of Altendorf – the legend of the sliding table saw.
Berlin, 1906: In order to produce his own furniture designs, Wilhelm Altendorf built a machine saw on which the workpiece is guided over the saw blade on a sliding table. Over the course of the following century "the Altendorf" became a legend, and the company became the world market leader for sliding table saws. Today over 300 people work for Altendorf in countries all around the world. Every year 4 500 sliding table saws leave its factories in Minden, Germany, Qinhuangdao, China and Blumenau, Brazil, on their way to international customers working with wood, metal and plastics.
