HOLZ-HANDWERK 2012: The registration phase has begun
From 21st to 24th March 2012 it will be time once again: all the wood-working trades are coming to Nuremberg for HOLZ-HANDWERK. Every two years in combination with fensterbau/frontale, International Trade Fair Window, Doors and Facade, the European Trade Fair for Machine Technology, Equipment and Supplies for the Wood Crafts presents a unique sector forum. With immediate effect exhibitors can register and participate in the event.

The mailing of the registration forms signalled the go-ahead in mid-June for the 16th edition of the trade fair covering all aspects of craftsman’s wood working and processing. Stefan Dittrich, Project Director HOLZ-HANDWERK, along with Roland Kast, Event Director, are looking forward to the coming months of preparations for the trade fair. “In Nuremberg in 2012, we are once again offering the complete spectrum for the wood crafts – ranging from innovative material solutions right up to trends and developments in the wood, machine and tool sector”, Dittrich and Kast said. Interested exhibitors can benefit from the early bookers’ advantage up to 15th August 2011.
Details are available on the Internet at www.holz-handwerk.de or directly from the project team.

Looking back: success right across the board

With 515 exhibitors from 17 countries, HOLZ-HANDWERK 2010 was once again able to impressively confirm its status as a very important wood-processing/working fair with the focus on Central Europe. The innovative specialist range (presented at the HOLZ-HANDWERK and fensterbau/frontale combined event) attracted 103,974 visitors to the Franconian metropolis. Around two thirds of the trade visitors at HOLZ-HANDWERK came from the craftsman’s trades, a further 12 percent from industry, followed by the wholesale and retail trade. For the exhibiting companies that means success right across the board: nine out of ten exhibitors were satisfied with the overall success of their trade fair participation. Almost all the participating firms made new business contacts and reached their most important target groups.

The indications for the forthcoming edition of HOLZ-HANDWERK also point to a successful event, because since 2010 the sector has again been registering turnover growth and is looking to the future with confidence.
“The wood-working skilled trade was certainly a major support for the machine manufacturers during the crisis and is continuing to shine through its consistency”, said Dr. Bernhard Dirr, Executive Director, VDMA (German Engineering Federation), Woodworking Machinery Sector. In this positive environment, the fair in its capacity as a tried-and-tested information forum, held in the south of Germany, traditionally a craftsman’s trade stronghold, is presenting the future potential of wood-working.
